JERUSALEM, Israel -- The government's Counterterrorism Bureau issued travel warnings for Israelis planning trips abroad during the fall holiday season.

The advisory cited the spread of Islamic State and other Islamist terror groups throughout Western Europe.

Israelis were again cautioned against vacationing at Red Sea resorts in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula because of the kidnapping threat posed by ISIS.

The warning named Turkey, another favorite vacation destination for Israelis, as a country with an "unstable" security situation.

Along with obvious problematic destinations in the Middle East, the advisory warned of increasing threats by Islamic terror groups in Africa, including Boko Haram in Nigeria, al Shabab in Somalia and Kenya, and al Qaeda and ISIS in several North African countries.

The bureau also issued travel advisories for Kashmir in northern India, Chechnya in Russia, and southern Thailand, labeling them dangerous destinations for Israeli vacationers.
