JERUSALEM, Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will strike back at anyone who tries to harm the Jewish state.

During a visit Tuesday to the IDF's northern headquarters for briefings on Israel's preparedness, Netanyahu, accompanied by Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon and IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisencot, said Israel is ready for any eventuality.

"The IDF [Israel Defense Forces] is strong. "We are prepared for every scenario," Netanyahu told reporters. "Anyone who tries to hurt us, we will hurt them."

The prime minister's visit comes a week after the IDF conducted a large-scale training exercise to prepare for possible confrontations with Iranian armed and funded Islamist groups, such as Hezbollah, on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.

Netanyahu and Ya'alon said Iran will use the financial windfall from the U.S.-led nuclear deal to try "to destroy Israel."

"The money that will flow to Iran-sponsored terrorist organizations will be used for one stated purpose: to destroy Israel," Netanyahu said.

Recent reports of ISIS using chemical agents and increasing tensions among the various jihadi groups near the border with Syria factored into Tuesday's visit.

The IDF closely monitors Hezbollah and other Islamic terror groups, including members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, especially when they're close to the northern border.

Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon also said Iran is deploying its "proxies to conduct terror attacks against us.

"Representatives of the Revolutionary Guards are, in fact, waiting for the implementation of this bad [Iranian] deal with world powers…to bring more money to Hezbollah, more to other terror groups both in the Golan Heights and the Palestinian arena," he said.
