Three Israelis Wounded in Jerusalem Terror Attack
JERUSALEM, Israel Three people were wounded, two critically, in a stabbing attack at the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem's Old City on Wednesday.
Two border policewomen shot and killed one terrorist at the scene and a second succumbed to his wounds after being evacuated to a hospital.
"They understood immediately that an attack was occurring and they bravely ran to the site, identified two terrorists with knives while one was stabbing someone," said Chief Superintendent for the Jerusalem District Asi Aharoni, YNet reported. "They shot at them precisely and prevented more innocent people from getting hurt."
Most terror attacks taking place these days are outside of the cities, but this one occurred at one of the most popular entrances to the Old City for both Israelis and tourists.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, 21 people have been killed and some 270 wounded in more than 120 stabbing attacks, 75 grenade and petrol bomb attacks, 46 shootings and 30 vehicular attacks, during the last three months.
