Five Israelis Killed in Terror Attack

CBN.com – A Palestinian terrorist struck the Israeli coastal town of Netanya today.
A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a shopping mall, killing at least five Israelis and wounding dozens more. Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the bombing, the second in Netanya in recent months. Another suicide bomber killed five Israelis near the same spot in the summer.
Netanya lies on the Mediterranean coast and has been the target of Palestinian bombers a number of times in the past five years.
Police kept the most recent bomber from getting inside the mall, preventing even more deaths. Following the bombing, security officials raised the alert level nationwide.
While, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas ordered the arrest of those involved, Israeli spokesmen accused the Palestinian Authority of failing to take steps to disarm terrorist organizations like Islamic Jihad. Netanya has been the target of many terror attacks in the past several years, in part because some Palestinian groups consider it occupied territory and land that needs to be liberated by Islam.
