New polls show John McCain has gained momentum in the presidential race.
He leads Barack Obama 46 to 41 percent in a new Zogby-Reuters poll.
Last month, Obama led by seven points. Obama still has a lead in the NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll, 45-to-42.
But that's a statistical tie -- and down from a six-point lead in July.
Both parties will be holding their political conventions in the next two weeks.
And polls often change dramatically after those conventions.
But for now, pollsters agree that Obama has lost whatever momentum he had.
