John McCain says he intends to run for Senate re-election.
Sen. McCain talked briefly, Tuesday, about his plans for 2010 during his first news conference since losing the presidential race.
When asked about his running mate Gov. Sarah Palin, McCain said he admires her reputation as a reformer and her ability to energize the Republican base.
"I think she has a very bright future in a leadership position in the Republican party," he said.
McCain also praised President-elect Obama on his recent cabinet picks.
