Gov't to Reward Volunteers with 'Serve' Act

The Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act is headed to President Obama's desk.

The legislation triples the size of the Americorps and provides incentives for seniors and students to volunteer.

Participants can earn more than $4,700 towards their education.

Supporters say it could create 175,000 new service opportunities, launching a new era of service.

But not everyone thinks it's such a great idea. Senator Jim Demint R-SC spoke with CBN News from Capitol Hill.
