California Senator Diane Feinstein disputes allegations that she helped her husband's real estate company get a lucrative contract from a federal agency.
According to The Washington Times, Feinstein's bill to increase funding to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation by $25 billion arrived shortly after the agency awarded CB Richard Ellis Group a contract to sell foreclosed homes.
Feinstein's husband Richard Blum is chairman of the company.
Feinstein, a Democrat, issued a statement saying that the story "makes inaccurate and unfair suggestions of impropriety that are simply not supported by facts."
