A new poll shows President Barack Obama's approval rating has slumped to 50 percent, down from 57 percent in July.
The Quinnipiac University poll, released Thursday, comes on the eve of his 200th day in office.

The American public also gave the president bad marks when it comes to the major issues of the day. 52 percent disapprove of his handling of health care and 49 percent disapprove of his handling of the economy.
"Americans are upset about rising unemployment and worried that healthcare plans making their way through Congress will add to the red ink in Washington," said Peter Brown, assistant director of Quinnipiac's polling institute.
"A willingness to give him the benefit of the doubt is, among some voters, evaporating," Brown added.
