Massachusetts Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, the last surviving brother of the Kennedy political dynasty, died Tuesday night at his home on Cape Cod after a yearlong struggle with brain cancer. He was 77.

Kennedy, considered the Senate's "Liberal Lion," served as Massachussett's senator for nearly 50 years.
