President Obama does not want to bring back the "fairness doctrine."
A White House spokesman told foxnews.com that the president hasn't changed his views since he first spoke out against the policy on the campaign trail.
The "fairness doctrine" used to require broadcasters to give opposing viewpoints on controversial issues.
Ronald Reagan did away with it in the early 80's.
But some congressional Democrats have talked about bringing it back.
Conservatives fear it would threaten popular radio talk shows like Rush Limbaugh's program.
They say it should be called "the sensorship doctrine."
