The Obama administration is trying to clarify comments made by Vice President Joe Biden about Israel and Iran.
Agency France Press reports the State Department is arguing Israel has not been given the "green light" to strike Iran's nuclear facilities.
But here's what Biden said just days ago:
"If the Netanyahu government decides to take a course of action different from the one being pursued now, that is their sovereign right to do that. That is not our choice," Biden said on the ABC network.
That's also different from Biden's comments just three months ago.
He was asked about an Israeli attack to stop Iran's nuclear program.
He told CNN, "I don't believe Prime Minister Netanyahu would do that. I think he would be ill-advised to do that."
A key member of Iran's parliament is promising "real and decisive" action if Israel were to attack Iran.
