President Obama has announced plans to extend health care and other benefits to the partners of gay federal employees.
The move comes on the heels of a letter Obama received from a prominent gay-rights group, blasting him for not doing enough for them.

Under the plan, gay and lesbian partners of federal employees will be granted access to health care and financial benefits, including relocation fees.
The president had previously declared June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month.
Obama is planning to sign the order during an oval office ceremony.
