Sen. Tom Coburn R-Okla. is questioning whether 100 projects across America should get federal stimulus money.
Special projects like building an eco-tunnel to help turtles safely cross the road in Florida comes with a price tag of nearly $3.5 million.
Another project would spend more than $2 million to install skylights in Montana's state-run liquor warehouse.
"We are borrowing money that we don't have to spend on things that we don't need in the name of economic stimulus when there is things we could spend it on that we do need," Coburn said.
Coburn's list of projects is partially a collection of news stories questioning local projects to be funded by President Obama's economic recovery program.
The White House has promoted the program by selecting favorable newspaper stories.
