A vote on a bill to give the District of Columbia a voting member in the House of Representatives has been pulled off the calendar.

Washington, D.C. doesn't have a voting House member since it is not a state.

The Senate recently approved a similar measure.

However, an amendment giving those in Washington easier access to guns caused problems in the House.

House Democratic leaders would like to vote on the bill but they aren't sure if it can be saved.
