Former House speaker Newt Gingrich is criticizing Notre Dame for the university's decision to grant President Obama an honorary degree.
The president is slated to speak at the school's graduation next week.
"To the degree that Notre Dame still thinks of itself as a Catholic institution, it raises real questions," Gingrich told Fox News Sunday. "I think the president's position has been the most radical, pro-abortion of any American president."
The university's president says having Obama speak does not mean the school universally supports the Obama administration policies.
Gingrich converted to Catholicism in late March.
