Lawmakers on Capital Hill began work, Monday, on legislation aimed at reversing so-called global warming.
The controversial Clean Energy bill would put limits on certain green-house gases.
Republicans are among some of the biggest critics of the bill, calling it nothing more than a cap and trade that's going to cost Americans a lot of money.
CBN News spoke with Sam Kazman of the Competitive Enterprise Institute about cape and trade.
"We think it's a terrible system," he said. "The Democrats at least need to be honest and admit that this will amount to a energy tax-- a huge energy tax-- but they of course shy away from the word tax be."
President Barack Obama is pushing the House to pass the bill.
Meanwhile, Republicans are expected to drag out the process by offerings hundreds of amendments.
