President Barack Obama's policies on health care have led to protests in the Democratic stronghold of San Francisco, Calif.
Crowds lined the street in Union Square as President Obama made his arrival there for a Democratic fundraiser.
There were many supporters, but also angry protestors, who claimed to be both conservative and liberal.
"People in this country had a lot of trust to vote for him to make a change and they really didn't know what kind of change," Karla Bruen said.
"I feel that he could be doing a lot more. I feel Obama needs to come forward and support single payer health care," one man holding a protest sign said.
"I'm surprised so many Democrats here protesting him," said one woman.
The president told the crowd that Congress is closer than ever to passing health care reform and he said everyone needs to support it.
