The White House is standing by its view that Fox News is not a news organization, but a mouthpiece for the Republican Party.
Last week, White House Communications Director Anita Dunn said that the administration would treat Fox as "an opponent" and that Fox was not a legitimate news organization.
On Sunday, White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod stood by Dunn's statement.
"The only argument Anita was making is that they're not really a news station," Axelrod said. "If you watch…it's not just their commentators, but a lot of their news programming. It's really not news. It's pushing a point of view."
Still, Axelrod added that administration officials would continue to appear on Fox.
Meanwhile, Fox says it's open to a discussion with the White House.
