South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's public disclosure of his affair with an Argentine woman several months ago changed his wife Jenny Sanford's life forever.
Apologizing to his wife and family at a press conference last June, the governor said, "I've let a lot of people down. That's the bottom line."
South Carolina's First Lady Jenny Sanford appeared on The 700 Club Thursday to talk more about her painful journey. Click play to watch the interview.
However, the first lady of South Carolina has since made it clear that she has not allowed her husband's very public betrayal to change her. Instead, she's clinging to her faith and putting her family first.
She's the mother of four boys and a former investment banker. She also served as her husband's campaign manager during his successful runs for Congress and for the governorship of the Palmetto State.
When her marriage started falling apart, she says she drew closer to God. She said that she realized "what matters most is how you live your life, not what you have to show for it."
Her journey is documented in her new memoir entitled Staying True.
