President Obama met with some of his biggest critics, Friday, taking questions on the budget, health care and taxes.
Nearly 300 GOP lawmakers attended the House Republicans retreat in Baltimore, Md.
The discussion, however, sounded more like a debate at times, including an exchange with Congressman Paul Ryan. Watch all of President Obama's comments at the retreat here.
"Why not give people the same kind of health care plan we here have in Congress?" Ryan asked. "That's the kind of reform we're proposing for Medicare."
"We're not going to be able to do anything about any of these entitlements if what we do is characterize whatever proposals are put out there as 'well, you know, that's the other party's being irresponsible," Obama responded.
The president ran out of time, but told Ryan, "You can give me a call."
Cameras were not originally going to be allowed in for the question and answer session, but Republicans decided to let the public see the exchange.
