A new poll suggests pro-life Democrats in Congress might well lose their job if they back any kind of health care bill that funds abortion.
Voters were polled in eight districts represented by pro-life Democrats. In seven of those districts, constituents said by large majorities they woulld be less likely to vote for their representative if he or she voted for a health care bill containing abortion funding.
For instance, in Rep. Charlie Wilson's, district, 64 percent said they would be less likely to vote for him, and only 18 percent more likely to vote for him.
More than 60 percent of voters in all eight districts said abortion and abortion funding have no place in health care legislation.
The Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life lobbying group, sponsored the poll.
