GOP's Big Gains Could Favor Pro-Life Movement

Conservatives and Republicans made big gains in state legislatures and governorships on Election Day last week.

Americans United for Life reported that 13 pro-life governors were elected to replace pro-choice governors. And at least seven pro-life incumbent governors were re-elected.

Meanwhile, both legislative bodies in six state have turned over to Republican control, including traditionally liberal states like New Hampshire and Wisconsin. The GOP also claimed control of seven more individual legislative chambers.
