Four of the Republican presidential candidates spoke about the right to human life at a "The Gift of Life" documentary's premiere, Wednesday night in Des Moines, Iowa.

Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum attended the event and each addressed the audience of 1,200 people.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, who narrated the documentary, also hosted the premiere.

"We understand that the number one issue that has driven this election is the economy and jobs. But it doesn't mean that the sanctity of human life for every human being is not an important issue," Huckabee said.

"I think it is significant that all four of the candidates who are present tonight have endorsed life. And that ought to be very important," he added.

The documentary's release came less than three weeks before the Iowa caucus.

Huckabee won the 2008 Iowa caucus but has not yet endorsed a candidate.
