Tea Party favorite Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., may be getting ready for a presidential bid.
"I think because of that, we've been making trips to the various early primary states to talk about the conversation about 2012," Bachmann said on Fox News. "I think we moved a step closer at this point. We are looking at the Iowa straw poll in August."
Bachmann has been spending most of the past two months gaining support in the primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.
Her main focus during her visits have been on federal spending and President Barack Obama's health care law.
"Everyone is worried about out of control spending," she said. "And what I'm hearing from people in Iowa is that they want us to repeal and defund Obamacare."
She hasn't confirmed plans to run, but she may form an exploratory committee as early as May.
