The Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition's spring forum, scheduled for Monday night in Waukee, has attracted five of the potential candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
Speakers include former Godfather's Pizza executive Herman Cain, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum , former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
The speakers will take the stage at a church in Waukee, located outside of Des Moines for a discussion of the issues.
The forum is an important first step for candidates trying to win over conservative Christian voters, which make up a big percentage of caucus goers in Iowa.
Texas Rep. Ron Paul is also in the Hawkeye State and will be the first to hold events Monday. He'll speak in Sioux Center, Pella and Iowa City as part of a lecture series sponsored by The Family Leader, a socially conservative group headed by activist Bob Vander Plaats.
