The Department of Energy recently approved $1 billion in new loans to green energy companies, including a loan of more than $700 million for a company called SolarReserve.
The Weekly Standard reports that company has ties to the brother-in-law of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
SolarReserve also has connections to people who were involved in the now infamous solar company Solyndra.
Congressional lawmakers have launched an investigation into the Obama administration's decision to fund Solyndra, which went bankrupt after being given half a billion taxpayer dollars.
News of the latest loan has renewed concerns about possible mismanagement or abuse of power in the government's funding of the solar industry.
