Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is endorsing Texas Gov. Rick Perry for the Republican nomination.
According to Jindal, Perry is "the candidate who can lead our party to victory in 2012."
"The 1 million jobs he's helped create as governor is a stark contrast to the 2.4 million jobs lost on President Obama's watch," Jindal said in a statement.
Jindal's endorsement came just hours after former GOP contender Tim Pawlenty announced his support for Mitt Romney.
The former Minnesota governor said Romney has the business background to fix the nation's economy.
"Romney is running for president because he is deeply committed to our country, troubled by its current condition, and I believe he can turn it around," Pawlenty said.
After the endorsement, Romney made Pawlenty a national cochairman for his campaign.
