Republican establishment candidates pulled out wins against strong Tea Party contenders in primary races in Florida and Wisconsin.
In Forida, longtime Republican Rep. John Mica defeated the Tea Party's Sandy Adams. The incumbents faced off in a bid to fill the state's newly drawn 7th district.
Adams was elected in 2010 in that Tea Party-inspired GOP wave. She lost, despite support from the popular former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
However, there is a potential upset in another Florida district. It's a tight race between 12-term GOP Rep. Cliff Stearns and veterinarian Ted Yoho. Some unofficial numbers have Yoho with a slim lead over Stearns.
In Wisconsin, former Gov. Tommy Thompson defeated Tea Party challenger Mark Neumann.
