President Obama is hosting a Muslim dinner at the White House Friday night to celebrate the Islamic month of Ramadan.

In addition to members of the Muslim community, guests will include elected officials and those of other religious faiths.

The dinner became an annual White House tradition under President Bill Clinton and was continued by President George W. Bush.

White House events also are held to celebrate Christian and Jewish religious holidays.
