Millions of people around the world watched the glitz and glamour of Sunday's 84th Annual Academy Awards from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

All of Tinsel Town's A-list celebrities walked down the red carpet and some also served as presenters during the show.

Billy Crystal served his ninth time as the host of the three-hour broadcast, which awarded the best films for 2011 with an Oscar statuette as picked by Academy members.

But, what often gets overlooked about celebrities is their connection to politics and lobbying.

A new report by the Media Research Center revealed the deep ties several Hollywood elites have to the Obama administration -- and the shortage of coverage the topic gets from mainstream media.

Matt Philbin, vice president for business and culture at the Media Research Center, talked about the president's connection to the entertainment industry, how this impacts his policy messaging, and why much of the media ignores this issue.
