President Obama's re-election campaign is looking for cash anywhere it can get it - including weddings.
The campaign has launched an "Obama event registry," which would allow wedding guests to donate to the president's campaign in place of gifts to the bride and groom.
The campaign is also targeting birthday and anniversary celebrations.
"Got a birthday, anniversary, or wedding coming up? Let your friends know how important this election is to you -- register with Obama 2012, and ask for a donation in lieu of a gift," the Obama campaign says on its website.
"It's a great way to support the President on your big day," it continues. "Plus, it's a gift that we can all appreciate -- and goes a lot further than a gravy bowl."
In May, the Republican National Committee raised $76.8 million, approximately $15 million more than the $60 million taken in by Obama and the Democratic National Committee.
