The president is treading on dangerous political ground in an election year, with a new poll showing his approval rating has dropped again.
The New York Times/CBS News poll shows just 41 percent of Americans approve of the job he's doing.
Just one month ago, 50 percent said they approved of his performance. Now 47 percent say they disapprove.
The poll comes in the midst of heightened tensions with Iran and Afghanistan and skyrocketing gas prices.
"I think just being the president of the United States of America, you would have some type of control over gas pricing," said Jamie Haber, an independent voter in Orlando, Fla.
Haver said he voted for Obama in 2008 but would not do so again.
"We're out here doing everything we can to make a living and gas prices keep going up," he told The News York Times.
