Republican candidate Mitt Romney landed an endorsement from former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for the GOP presidential nomination.
Bush congratulated the former Massachusetts governor on his Illinois victory, saying he was just the kind of leader the nation needs.
"We face huge challenges," Bush said. "And we need a leader who understands the economy, recognizes more government regulation is not the answer, believes in entrepreneurial capitalism and works to ensure that all Americans have the opportunity to succeed."
Although Bush also congratulated the other candidates on a "hard-fought, thoughtful debate and primary season," he said it's now time for the GOP to unite around one candidate.
Former President George H.W. Bush, the former Florida governor's father, has also endorsed Romney.
