President Barack Obama is increasing the pace of his fundraising efforts.
In a one-day fundraising blitz, the president planned five events: three in Atlanta and two in his hometown of Chicago.
One of the events in Atlanta is a gala hosted by his campaign's African American Leadership Council.
The event will be held at the studio of Christian actor, director and producer Tyler Perry. VIP tickets range from $2,500 to $10,000
A dinner after the gala will be held at Perry's home, raising $35,800 per guest. The money goes to Obama's campaign and the Democratic National Convention.
The president will also be in Chicago just ahead of Tuesday's Illinois Republican primary.
