More than a hundred Muslim delegates are taking part in this week's Democratic National Convention.
The Council of American-Islamic Relations says that number is more than double the amount of Muslim and Arab-American delegates that attended the convention in 2008.
A spokesperson from CAIR says this is evidence of American Muslims growing engagement in their community's and acceptance in the Democratic Party.
"The more than doubling of Muslim delegates at this year's Democratic National Convention is a direct result of their hard work and grassroots organizing within the Democratic Party," CAIR Government Affairs Coordinator Robert McCaw said in a statement.
