President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are preparing for their first crucial debate set for Wednesday, Oct. 3.
Both candidates are holding mock debates to get ready.
Ohio Sen. Rob Portman is playing the role of the president to help prepare Mitt Romney for the debate. Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is taking on the role of Mitt Romney to help Obama get ready for the debates.
The candidates seem to be trying to keep expectations low, each pointing out the other's strength when it comes to debating.
Romney called the president a "brilliant orator."
President Obama noted that Romney has already done 20 primary debates during this election cycle.
