Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is pledging to keep America "under God."
"I will not take God out of my heart. I will not take God out of the public square," Romney said while campaigning in Ohio Monday.
Last week at the Democratic National Convention, delegates removed a reference to God from their party platform.
CBN News broke that story, and nationwide public outrage soon followed. That prompted the DNC to put "God" back in their document.
But Romney keeps hitting that topic over the last few days.
"That pledge (of allegiance) says 'under God.' I will not take God out of the name of our platform," he told troops during his stop at the Virginia Aviation Museum Saturday.
"We the American people were given our rights not by government but by God himself," Romney said.
