Obama Admin Seeks Warrantless Cell Phone Searches

The Obama administration wants to allow police to search Americans' cell phone records without a warrant.

The Washington Post reports the White House wants the U.S. Supreme Court to rule that the searches are constitutional.

The government says police already have the power to go through the items a suspect is carrying, like notebooks or calendars.

But smartphones contain a great deal of personal information, including emails, text messages, and photographs.
