FBI Chief: Drone Concerns 'Worthy of Debate'

Ad Feedback

FBI Director Robert Mueller told Congress that the growing use of domestic drone surveillance calls for a debate on how and when they should be used.

Mueller said the FBI currently uses unmanned aerial vehicles on a limited basis and only on stationary objects.

But concerns over the use of air space and the threat to privacy should be addressed as drones become more "omnipresent."

Mueller said the FBI is developing guidelines for drone use, but the topic is "worthy of debate and perhaps legislation" in the future.
