President Barack Obama will be making the fight against "global warming" one of his top priorities in his final two years in office.

One reason he's focusing on climate change: he has more power in that area.

Now that voters have thrown Democrats out of office in the Senate, the president is focusing on issues where he doesn't need to work with Congress.

He'll move ahead with international agreements and regulations in the Unites States. During his recent trip to China, the president reached a deal where the two countries agreed to lower their pollution rates.

Critics warn the president's policies will cost jobs as well as create thousands more pages of federal rules and regulations, some with criminal penalties.
