Emails of Five More IRS Employees Go Missing

The Internal Revenue Service says it has lost more emails, this time from five more employees who are also part of the congressional investigations into the Tea Party targeting scandal.

The tax agency said in June it couldn't find an untold number of emails to and from Lois Lerner,  the former IRS official who's refused to testify to Congress about the scandal.

The IRS blamed computer crashes for the latest lost emails and says it hasn't found any evidence that anyone deliberately destroyed them.

But Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, was skeptical of that explanation.

"The IRS's ever-changing story is practically impossible to follow at this point, as they modify it each time to accommodate new facts," Issa said. "This pattern must stop."
