The Obama administration treats investigative journalists like enemies, former CBS News investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson told a Senate panel this week.

"If you cross this administration with perfectly accurate reporting they don't like, you will be attacked and punished," Attkisson testified Thursday before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

"You and your sources may be subjected to the kind of a surveillance devised for enemies of the state," she said.

Attkisson has filed a lawsuit against the Justice Department over the hacking of her computer and phones while she was investigating the "Fast and Furious" gun-walking scandal and the 2012 attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya.

"Let me emphasize that my reporting was factually indisputable," she testified. "Government officials weren't angry because I was doing my job poorly; they were panicked because I was doing my job well."
