Clinton Backs Path to Citizenship for Undocumented

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton says she would take immigration reform policies even further than President Barack Obama has.

Obama's executive action blocks the deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants.

Clinton told a crowd of young immigrants in Nevada she would move unilaterally to let even more people stay in the country if Congress doesn't take action on immigration.

She alluded specifically to the possibility of blocking deportations for parents of "dreamers," those who were brought to the country illegally as children.

They're not currently covered under Obama's executive action, which blocks the deportations of millions of undocumented immigrants.

Meanwhile, a new AP-GfK Poll poll shows a majority of Republican voters are open to softer immigration policies than in the past.

The survey suggests that Republicans overwhelmingly want a candidate to reverse Obama's executive action. But most are open to the possibility of voting for someone who would keep that policy in place.

And 53 percent favor a path to citizenship for people in the country illegally.
