Boehner Appoints Special Panel to Investigate Abortion Industry

Outgoing House Speaker John Boehner has appointed a special investigative panel that will probe deeper into the abortion industry in America.

The new panel was created in the wake of several undercover videos that revealed that Planned Parenthood was selling aborted baby body parts.

"Recent videos exposing the abortion-for-baby parts business have shocked the nation, and demanded action," Boehner explained in a statement Friday.

Father Frank Pavone, national director for Priests for life, welcomed Boehner's move and pledged his organization's full support.

"A key step in ending abortion is to expose the corruption of the abortion industry," Pavone said.

"I have sent a letter to each of the newly appointed members of this committee, pledging the full collaboration of Priests for Life," he continued. "We have been investigating the abortion industry since the early 1990s, and can be of assistance to this effort."

Members of the panel include Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn. Both have been integral in the efforts to defund Planned Parenthood.

"Chairman Blackburn and our members will have the resources and the subpoena power to get to the bottom of these horrific practices, and build on our work to protect the sanctity of all human life," Boehner said.

"Those who get paid to kill children are doing a lot of other immoral -- as well as illegal -- activities as well," Pavone said. "This new congressional panel will be another step in making that happen."
