CWN.com - One Colorado farm family found a unique way to gave back to its community this holiday season.
They celebrated a bountiful harvest by opening their fields for the public to pick the leftover crops.
Close to 40,000 people took them up on their offer, based on the biblical principle known as "gleaning."
Deuteronomy 24:19 says: "When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the alien, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands."
