Eleven-year-old Riya lives in Delhi, India. After she had a fever for more than 15 days, her right leg went numb and she had trouble walking. Her mother, Mamta, didn't know what to do.
"I asked her if she had any pain. She said that she did not, but her leg just felt weak," Mamta said. "I took Riya to several doctors and neurologists. They performed painful needle tests on her, but afterwards they told me that they could not do anything to help."
Riya and Mamta were Hindu, but when Riya went to her aunt's house, she started watching a CBN program that showed people being healed by Jesus Christ.
"When I went to my aunt's house, I watched the TV program, 'Ek Nayee Zindagi,'" Riya said. "I told my aunt that I wanted to go to church."
When Mamta came to pick her up, Riya had an unusual request.
"I told my mother that I didn't want to go to the doctor. I wanted to go to jesus," Riya said.
"When I brought her to church, I prayed to Jesus and asked him to heal my daughter within 15 days," Mamta said. "Because if he didn't, she would have to have a muscle biopsy."
Five days later, Mamta was astounded.
"Riya was walking normally, climbing up stairs, and didn't need any help," she said. "When I took her to the doctor I was told that Riya was perfectly all right and there's no need for a muscle biopsy."
Mamta and Riya threw out all their Hindu idols and gave their lives to Christ.
"'Ek Nayee Zindagi' has completely changed our lives," Mamta said. "Now we feel every problem has a solution, every illness has a cure."
"Now I can play, climb steps, and run!" Riya said. "I went to church and prayed to Jesus and He healed me."
