CWN.org - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visited several Asian nations in her first official trip.
She stopped first in the world's largest Muslim nation, Iindonesia, where she was met by protests.
Muslim college students rallied against Clinton in Jakarta.
Some threw shoes at a caricature of her, and others held anti-American banners.
The Washington Post reports that Clinton was asked if terrorism has made Americans prejudiced against Muslims.
She responded by comparing Christianity with Islam.
"I am a Christian. Through the centuries we have had many people who have done terrible things in the name of Christianity. They have perverted the religion," Clinton said.
Mrs. Clinton also visited China, Japan, and South Korea.
