The world economic crisis is inflaming human rights abuses around the world, according to a new report from Amnesty International.
The group suggests human rights are taking a back seat to economic stimulus efforts.
The 400 page annual report says millions of people are struggling around the world to meet basic needs and their protests are being met with repression.
Among countries where the worst abuses are occurring are Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Somalia and Sudan.
Also on the list are Asia: North Korea, Afghanistan, China and Myanmar.
