Evangelist Billy Graham and his son Franklin blanketed the Dominican Republic with the gospel this month.
Christians invited friends and neighbors to watch the Graham television specials for the "My Hope" campaign in more than 40,000 homes.
"My Hope" campaign director Greg Matthews said the response was unusually strong in Dominican cities.
"City people are more rushed, more busy. The churches have more things going. And often we don't see the same kind of enthusiasm in the cities," he said.
"But in Santo Domingo, literally on Friday, Saturday night when I was walking down a block to go to a home, I walked past three or four homes that had groups of people in them, just on that block, watching this program," he said.
The next "My Hope" campaign will take place in Puerto Rico. After that, Matthews said the Graham team will be taking the TV specials to Africa.
